About gemstones and tangled threads.
Do you know what these two items have in common? Well just in case you may not I'll tell you just before I go to bed ok,,,
No matter how valuable a gemstone is, before it is found it is dirty, dull and needs to be cleaned, cut and polished before anyone will want it, a gemstone that is found to have a "star" is of the highest value provided it is cut and set right.
But before being cut, polished and set, to the untrained eye the stone is just another rock. It takes a skilled and dedicated person to bring out the beauty in an uncut in the rough dirty old rock.
It is the same with a pile of old tangled yarn it takes someone who is dedicated and determined to untangle the yarn, and then make a beautiful blanket or other item to give to someone, or to keep to decorate your own home.
In other words anything that will have lasting value needs someone to be determined and dedicated to see a project through to completion.
Many people like pretty things but are not willing to put forth the effort to make something beautiful or to make something for others to treasure.
So anyway, just some random thoughts, I'd like to share with you all tonight...
And to encourage creativity in your lives I'll post a couple different links this time, about gemstones, and about quilts, (patterns of course) and at least one crochet link,,, so tonight it will be a variety...

I've untangled a LOT of yarn in my time - what you say is very true! Thanks for the links!
ReplyDeleteI think you are very creative. Did you see the link that had crochet quilts, the pictures were really pretty, one was a "Double Weddingband" quilt-top, it is completely done using crochet.
ReplyDeleteI believe the patterns for these are with the links.
I'd like to make some crochet quilt tops. I'd like to make them double thick.
I think quilts and afagans would make good gifts for a newlywed couple, or just someone setting up housekeeping.
Anyway, I've not been over to look at your blog lately (due to extreme stress brought on my sudden shocking news, remind me to tell you more ok.)
So anyway's, I'm going to go see if you have any more pretty quilt pictures up, since I last visited or purses, I think you do very good work.
